Correia Memorial 2025 (League Games)

The league games have been played to a really hectic schedule and here is a summary of what has transpired.

Day # 1 ( 13th December)

9A v/s 9B ( 9B won via a solitary goal scored by Aryan Colaco)

10A v/s 10B ( Last years’ runner’s up 10B chalked up their first win via a solitary goal from Joywin)

10D v/s 9D ( 10D won 2-0 with goals scored by Arush J and Joshua M)

10C v/s 9C ( 10C scored a hard fought 2-1 win, Goals by Harshal and Masanam for 10C and by Aariz for 9C)

That brings us to day #2 (14th December)

9C v/s 9A ( 9C beat 9A three zero in the highest scoring match of the tournament so far.Goals by Yash Mali,Aariz and Ranvir)

9B v/s 10C (10C won their second game in a row via Harshal’s second goal of the tournament.)

9D v/s 10A ( 9D needed to win the game if they were to go through to the semis. They were the only class 9 team in Pool A pitted against three veteran class 10 teams.They did bravely but couldn’t manage the win they desperately needed .The game ended in a 1-1 draw with goals by Bryson and Aditya Nair)

10D v/s 10B ( The first goalless draw of the tournament )

Which brings us to day #3 (15th December)

9B v/s 9C ( The second goalless draw of the tournament)

9D v/s 10B ( A hat trick of goalless draws- a new Correia Memorial Record. Never had three goalless draws in a row before)

The last day of the league games .Day #4 (16th December)

10 A v/s 10D ( 10A needed a two goal win to qualify for the semis. Heartbreak for them as they won the game 1-0 . Mit Suple was the goalscorer)

9A v/s 10C ( It was a game of no consequence as 10C had already qualified for the semis and 9A were already eliminated. 10C won by one goal via a sightly disputed penalty taken by Fabio)

Points at the end of the league stage ..

Semifinalists ;

9C and 10D made it to the semis on account of better goal difference to 9B and 10A .It has been a very low scoring tournament so far.Only 15 goals have been scored across 12 games. There have been no hat tricks so far. Harshal (10C ) and Aariz (9C) lead the race for the Golden Boot with 2 goals each.The teams are not going to get a break to catch their breath. The semis are on today.

And the finals are tomorrow. ( Which brings us back to the annual message given to us by our annually missing chief guest – Leonardo DiCaprio)
