The intrepid participants gathered in school in the pre dawn darkness.Parental consent letters were collected by the teachers present and then the runners set off on the gruelling cross country race with loud shouts of energy and enthusiasm.
The race took them far from school over hills and valleys and winding bylanes until they reached the salt pan road that was once upon a time visible from school before all the buildings came up and obscured it from our view
There some stopped to take selfies..
The others kept on running.
Eventually everyone arrived back in school,exhausted but very pleased with themselves that they had run the race to its end.
Congrats to all the intrepid participants and thanks to all the teachers who took care to see that all was well.The long standing tradition of having the Cross Country Race,broken for two years due to the pandemic,is restored once again .
