
The Harris Shield is an inter-school cricket tournament, which has been held in Mumbai since 1897.

It is named after Lord Harris, former England captain and governor of Bombay, and is perhaps best known for the 664-run stand in 1988 that brought Sachin Tendulkar and Vinod Kambli into the limelight. ( Read more about that story on this link)
Our school took part in this prestigious 127 year old tournament this year and put up a very creditable performance.
FIRST GAME


Our first match was against Balmohan High School.They won the toss and batted first.We got them all out for just 108 runs.Sparsh Patil took 1 wicket,Ajay Katke took 5 wickets and Yash Rawat took 4 wickets. We had a target of 109 runs to win in 270 balls.We chased it down in 90 balls powered by Arjun who smashed 51 runs in 42 balls.It was an easy 8 wicket win for us.
The man of the match was Ajay Katke

SECOND GAME

Our second match was against Ryan International School Kandivali. We won the toss and chose to bat first. We set them a target of 299 runs in 35 overs. Smit Tandel smashed 114 runs in 69 balls and Akash played a beautiful innings of 47 runs in 25 balls.

Lawson made 37 in 52 deliveries.We were able to bowl out our opposition for a mere 71 runs. Akash (3) , Sparsh (4) and Arjun (3) were the wicket takers. We won this match by 228 runs

The man of the match was Smit Tandel

THIRD GAME

Our third match was against St Sebastian High School .WE won the toss again and elected to bowl first this time.They set us a target of 107 runs. Sarvesh (1 ) Sparsh (4) and Yash (2) and Aakash (2) were our wicket taking bowlers. We had to chase 108 runs and we won the match by 1 wicket. This was the toughest and most thrilling game.Sparsh with 30 runs off 30 balls was totally outstanding.
The man of the match was Sparsh Patil (Class 6)

FOURTH GAME

Our fourth match was against Sanpada High School. We lost the toss and they put up a huge total of 243 runs for the loss of 7 wickets.Our bowling figures were Aakash (2), Smith (2) ,Shaurya (1) and two runouts.Set with a task of making 244 to win in 270 deliveries we fell short this time.They bowled us out for 185 runs .Parth top scored with an innings of 62 runs. The Man of the match for the tournament was Pankaj from that school. We enjoyed ourselves taking part in this famous tournament and hope to do much better next year.
