Historians among us will remember that Whiting House has a long tradition of never managing to win anything. The photograph above us is from last year’s Sports Day where they almost broke that tradition but fell short of the winning target by a mere 60 points. ( You can read the saga of that sad tale here…)
So it was a cause of tremendous jubilation for them when the jinx of coming either second,third or last was finally broken on Sports Day 2024.Against all odds and precedent they surprised everyone and themselves most of all by pulling off a most stunning victory.
How they managed this extraordinary feat is still being studied and analysed by a specially selected team of statisticians,journalists,historians and other assorted experts from various fields. The results of their findings will be published when they complete their research in a few years from now. In the meantime we can all keep congratulating Lance,Darwin,Yash and the rest of Whiting House for their most excellent win.
