The long awaited 2025 edition of the beloved Correia Memorial Tournament kicked off at last on the 13th of December. The teams assembled long before dawn- caring not a hoot for sub zero temperatures and the bitter cold. Messi is currently in India but was unfortunately a bit too busy to attend the opening ceremony. However he was kind enough to send a message to the players.
The teams were much encouraged by his words.After a brief,unostentatious opening ceremony, the tournament got underway.
Four fixtures were held today. Sir Murugan and his crew of referees did the officiating as usual.The winning teams on the opening day were 9B ,10B,10D and 10C . The corresponding losing teams were 10A,9A,9D and 9C. The next round of games will be held tomorrow.
