Class 10 B took to the field with the weight of destiny on their shoulders. They were physically a much stronger team and should have dominated the game. However the exact opposite happened.Their game plan didn’t really work and they were unable to find any answers to the challenges that 10D presented them with on the day. These included….
The speed of Lance and Kshitij down the wing. They were repeatedly able to get past the defenders and cross the ball into the centre where Joshua would be prowling around like a little lion and Mohit buzzing around like a bee. The threat in the air created by the towering presence of Shravan – especially during corner kicks .The tireless running of Ashriel and Umair in midfield whose efforts kept the lions share of ball possession with their own team. The predatory goalscoring instincts of Joshua – a centre forward with a burning desire to score (and attempt bicycle kicks whenever he felt like it). The extremely accurate much practiced corner kicks provided by Lance – two of which were converted to goals (Joshua and Shravan)
The steadfast defending provided by Uchit, Sean and Advait and Arshad

The surprisingly excellent goalkeeping by Ishan. Ishan contradicts the traditional wisdom that goalies are supposed to be thin and tall. He is neither and yet he turned out to be one of the best goalkeepers of the tournament.10 D really hadn’t got their act together in the early stages of the tournament and on more than one occasion Ishan kept his team in the game by his brilliant goalkeeping.
All said and done it was a brilliant example of team work at play which led to a well deserved win.
Congratulations to Class 10 B for doing their best and playing with great spirit and sportsmanship.

Ms Geetha picked up her Fourth Correia Memorial Trophy!!! She has been class teacher of the winning team in 2018,2022,2024 and 2025. Having got her team to win the trophy in 2024 and 2025 – she is now on a hat trick !
Talking about hat tricks ,the 2025 version of the tournament was unusual in the fact that there were no hat tricks scored. There was an unusual hat trick of three goalless draws in a row (10D VS 10B, 9B VS 9C and 9D VS 10B in the league stage.)The teams for most part were very evenly balanced. The closest thing to a hat trick was the brace of goals that Joshua scored in the final.
