One of the last events to be completed in school shortly before we had to abruptly shut down due to the Covid 19 Pandemic was the Inter House Basketball Tournament.
The tournament, for students of classes 7,8 and 9 began on the 6th of February and the games were played during school hours.
Each team got to play two games against every other team and on the 2nd of March the points tally was as follows..
Murphy House and Whiting House were the finalists in class 7.
The class 8 and 9 finalists were Keane House and Gomes House.
Here is a look at some of the action of those final games.A reminder of how life used to be filled with simple joys not so long ago and how much we now miss things we that we used to take for granted.
At the end of it all the following houses emerged the winners,
CLASS 7:WHITING HOUSE

BEST PLAYER OF CLASS 7

CLASS 8: GOMES HOUSE

BEST PLAYER OF CLASS 8

CLASS 9: GOMES HOUSE

BEST PLAYER OF CLASS 9

A special word of thanks to Sir Pratik for coaching the basketball teams and for encouraging interest and love for the sport.
Thanks to Sir Barry and Sir Brice for conducting the tournament.
Let us pray that all remain safe and healthy during this time and that we can come back next year for an even bigger and better tournament.
Thank you Brother for sharing this with us. I personally feel St Augustines is doing very well to promote basketball in the school and with such events being organised, even more children will be encouraged to take up this game.
These presentations of moments during matches captured so brilliantly will surely keep parents like me and students like my son very strongly motivated. Your words too introducing the events to the audience are very well articulated and warm.
Stay safe.
