Blood is the most precious gift that anyone can give to another person – the gift of life. A decision to donate your blood can save a life, or even several if your blood is separated into its components – red cells, platelets and plasma – which can be used individually for patients with specific conditions.
The school organised a blood donation camp in collaboration with Sarla Blood Bank in the school hall on the 2nd of October. Inspite of a fair amount of advertising of the program we were not able to meet the target of 100 donors. 66 donors showed up and out of this number 52 were found healthy enough to go through with the process.
Thank you to all who came to donate blood and to the teachers and organisers of the event. The camp was one of the events planned as part of the Golden Jubilee Year celebrations. We hope to conduct the blood donation camp on an annual basis.
Some photographs to remember the event.
