Correia Memorial 2026 (Finals)

A quick at the finals over the last few years

2025 : 10B v/s 10D (10D won 3-0)

2024 : 9B v/s 10D (10D won 3-2)

2023 : 9D v/s 10C ( 10C won 3-0)

Class 10D came into the finals as favourites. They were on a hat trick of wins and they had already beaten 10C in the league stage of the tournament. 10C has only ever won the tournament once in their history – and that time they had Nigel on the team.

But what actually happened was not what anyone expected. It was a bit like an unstoppable force meeting an immovable object. Both teams neutralised each other. 10 C took the larger number of shots at goal but for the first time in the history of the Correia Memorial – no goal was scored by any player of the opposing team.

The only goal that went in was due to an unfortunate error by Shakti- the goal keeper of 10D.He muffed a clearance off a corner kick by Kairon and the ball went into his own goal. 10D did have a brief few moments of wild hope immediately after that when they thought that Varun scored from the half way line with a kick off kick. That goal, after a short period of protests and confusion was disallowed after a VAR check. (The ball had gone over the post and into the goal through a hole in the net.)

The rest of the game was spent with both teams running against each other and neither being able to gain any advantage. The audience, who for the last three years, had got to see at least three goals being scored in the finals had to be content to seeing only one (own) goal being scored this time – and so they grumbled a bit.

Some videos and some rejoicing, Congratulations to Yash Mali for leading 10C to the win. Hard luck to 10D – you did your best.
