Correia Memorial: End of Group Stage

The last two games of the group stage games did not throw up any surprises.9C beat 9D 3-0 in a largely inconsequential match with Deepesh(2) and Yasin scoring the goals.Deepesh was declared the man of that match.
And earlier today 9A took on 10C in the last game.They had to beat 10C by 7 goals in order to qualify but never managed to recover after conceding a goal early in the first half.They fought gamely but eventually lost 1-0.
Sharon scored for 10C and Arpan from 9A was given the man of the match award.
The tournament has thus reached the knock out stage.
The first semi final between 10A and 10D will be played on Monday 10th September and the second one between 10B and 10 C is scheduled for Tuesday.
On paper 10A are the strongest team,being the only team to have won all their group stage matches in the tournament.
However the game is not being played on paper,but rather on a very temperamental and muddy field which has been making the ball stick,and slide and wobble and do strange things.Playing conditions are reasonably good now but if it rains over the weekend things may change.
So it can be anybody’s game.
